Quality Control

Quality Built Into Every Stage

Quality assurance is integrated throughout MAG Lubricants’ manufacturing process, from incoming raw material verification to blending control, finished product testing and dispatch release.

Raw materials are checked before production, batches are monitored during blending, and finished products are verified before release. This approach supports consistency, traceability and confidence across every product supplied by MAG Lubricants.

Quality Assurance

Quality Gate Process

01

Raw Material Intake

Base oils, additives and packaging materials are received into controlled handling processes.

02

Sampling & Laboratory Approval

Incoming materials are sampled and checked before they are released for production.

03

Production Readiness

Formulation requirements, materials and production conditions are reviewed before blending begins.

04

Batch Blending Control

Blending is monitored through controlled procedures and process systems.

05

In-Process Verification

Key production parameters are reviewed during blending, storage and filling.

06

Finished Product Testing

Finished products are checked against required product parameters and quality requirements.

Batch Release & Dispatch Control

Products are released, documented and prepared for delivery or export.

Raw Materials

Raw Material Verification

Base oils, additives and other incoming materials are sampled and checked before being released for production.

Laboratory approval forms part of the production readiness process, helping ensure that raw materials meet the required quality parameters before entering the blending cycle.

Incoming material checks
Base oil verification
Additive verification
Laboratory approval before production
Material traceability
Production readiness control

Process Control

In-Process Quality Control

During blending and filling, production is monitored through controlled procedures and process systems designed to support accuracy, consistency and traceability.

This includes monitoring of storage, blending, filling and loading activities to help ensure that the product remains aligned with approved requirements throughout the manufacturing process.

Batch monitoring
Blending control
Filling supervision
Process traceability
Handling control
Dispatch readiness checks

Laboratory

Laboratory Testing

MAG Lubricants’ laboratory supports product testing and verification using recognized test methods and analytical equipment for key lubricant properties.

Testing may include viscosity, density, flash point, pour point, total base number, elemental analysis and other product-specific parameters depending on the lubricant type and specification requirement.

Key Laboratory Testing Areas

Test AreaPurpose
Viscosity Testing
Verifies flow characteristics and viscosity grade alignment.
Density Measurement
Supports product consistency and batch comparison.
Flash Point
Supports safety and specification review.
Pour Point
Assesses low-temperature flow performance.
TBN / TAN
Supports alkalinity or acidity-related verification where applicable.
Elemental Analysis
Supports additive and product verification where applicable.
Appearance / Visual Check
Supports cleanliness, color and consistency review.
Product-Specific Testing
Applied depending on lubricant category and required specification.

Batch Release

Finished Product Release

Finished products are checked before dispatch to support compliance with internal quality requirements, product specifications and customer documentation needs.

Batch release procedures help ensure that products are supplied only after the relevant quality checks have been completed.
