Performance by Design

Product Responsibility & Innovation

Formulated for protection, efficiency and long-term value.

Product responsibility begins with a clear application, the correct specification and performance that can be demonstrated.

First Principle

Performance is the first responsibility

A lubricant that does not protect the equipment cannot be considered responsible. Our starting point is fit-for-purpose performance — the correct chemistry, viscosity and specification for the operating environment. From there we evaluate longer life, efficiency and environmental compatibility, always alongside safety, durability, OEM requirements and technical evidence.

The Matrix

Four balanced outcomes

The correct product balances application requirements with verified opportunities.

Product responsibility matrix showing four balanced outcomes—Efficiency, Durability, Compliance and Environmental Consideration—centred on fit-for-purpose product selection.

Fit for purpose

The correct product balances all applicable requirements.

Efficiency

Selected technologies may reduce mechanical losses or support fuel and energy efficiency in specific applications.

Durability

Protection against wear, oxidation, deposits, corrosion and thermal stress supports lubricant and component life.

Compliance

Products meet the specifications claimed in current documentation; approvals are product-specific.

Environmental Consideration

Rapid biodegradability, lower toxicity or circular content for relevant applications — supported by recognised methods.

Responsible by Application

Benefits, where the evidence supports them

Extended life where approved

Longer oil life can reduce consumption, packaging demand and maintenance — only where the OEM permits and operating conditions support it.

Efficiency where applicable

Viscosity and friction characteristics can influence efficiency in specific applications, validated against a defined reference and OEM requirements.

Environmentally considerate

Marine, forestry, agriculture and other sensitive operations may need defined biodegradability and toxicity characteristics, supported by recognised tests.

The responsible position

Selected lubricants may support extended service intervals where approved by the equipment manufacturer and supported by operating conditions, maintenance practices and technical monitoring.

Product performance note

Outcomes depend on the product selected, equipment design, operating conditions, contamination control, maintenance practices and OEM compliance. Consult current technical documentation before changing lubricant grade, type or service interval.
