We are looking for a hands-on engineer to lead this transformation from within the business.

The AI & Automation Engineer will identify, build, and manage technology solutions that improve business efficiency and support digital growth.

You will work autonomously, report directly to a member of the company's leadership team, and collaborate with departments including sales, manufacturing, operations, finance, procurement, logistics, quality, and marketing.

This role requires a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach. You will be expected to identify opportunities without waiting for direction, challenge inefficient ways of working, propose practical solutions, and take full ownership from initial concept through deployment and ongoing improvement.

The role will also take technical ownership of the MAG Lubricants website and related digital platforms.

AI and Business Automation

• Develop and manage the company's AI and automation roadmap.
• Identify manual, repetitive, or inefficient processes that can be improved through technology.
• Build AI assistants, document-processing tools, internal knowledge systems, intelligent search, reporting tools, and automated workflows.
• Integrate AI solutions with approved company systems, databases, documents, and third-party platforms.
• Automate approvals, notifications, data entry, reporting, document generation, and task routing.
• Evaluate new AI tools and models based on business value, security, cost, and reliability.
• Monitor and continuously improve deployed solutions.

Data Engineering and Reporting

• Build and maintain reliable data pipelines across company systems.
• Clean, structure, validate, and integrate operational and commercial data.
• Improve data quality, consistency, accessibility, and traceability.
• Develop dashboards, automated reports, alerts, and management insights.
• Maintain appropriate access controls, backups, documentation, and data-governance practices.

Website and Digital Platforms

• Take technical ownership of the MAG Lubricants corporate website.
• Maintain and improve the frontend, backend, CMS, database, hosting, APIs, and integrations.
• Develop new features such as product tools, document libraries, inquiry workflows, career pages, distributor platforms, and AI-powered assistants.
• Maintain multilingual functionality across desktop and mobile.
• Improve website performance, security, accessibility, SEO, reliability, and user experience.
• Monitor uptime, analytics, forms, errors, and integrations.
• Manage testing, deployment, version control, backups, and releases.
• Coordinate with external developers, designers, and technology providers where required.

Engineering, Security and Governance

• Build secure, scalable, and maintainable production systems.
• Apply good engineering practices, including source control, testing, documentation, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident management.
• Implement authentication, permissions, secrets management, logging, and audit trails.
• Protect confidential company, customer, employee, and commercial information.
• Ensure responsible use of AI, including suitable human review and approval controls.
• Maintain technical documentation, system architecture, and recovery procedures.

Business Collaboration

• Work closely with teams to understand business processes before proposing solutions.
• Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Train employees on new systems and support adoption.
• Present project progress, risks, results, and recommendations to senior management.
• Measure the impact of delivered solutions, including time saved, errors reduced, and costs avoided.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, data science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least four years of relevant experience in AI, automation, software engineering, data engineering, or full-stack development.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience building and integrating APIs, databases, webhooks, and third-party platforms.
• Experience with modern web technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Vue, or equivalent frameworks.
• Hands-on experience using Claude, Claude Code, and other leading AI tools and models for software development, automation, prototyping, and production workflows.
• Experience building applications using large language models and generative-AI platforms.
• Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector search, tool calling, AI agents, and evaluation.
• Experience building data pipelines and working with structured and unstructured data.
• Experience with a major cloud platform such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of Git, automated testing, CI/CD, deployment, logging, and monitoring.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, privacy, system permissions, and responsible AI.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently manage projects from concept to production.

• Experience with Power Automate, n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar automation platforms.
• Experience integrating ERP, CRM, accounting, document-management, or business-intelligence systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Odoo, Salesforce, HubSpot, Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Experience with multilingual websites, technical SEO, accessibility, web analytics, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience in manufacturing, lubricants, automotive, energy, chemicals, logistics, or another operationally complex industry.
• Arabic language skills would be an advantage.
